Zn–Al Layered Double Hydroxides Synthesized on Aluminum Foams for Fluoride Removal from Water

چکیده

Fluoride excess in water represents an environmental issue and a risk for human health since it can cause several diseases, such as fluorosis, osteoporosis, damage of the nervous system. Layered double hydroxides (LDHs) be exploited to remove this contaminant from by taking advantage their high ion-exchange capability. LDHs are generally mixed with polluted form powders, which then problem uneasy separation contaminated LDH sludge purified liquid. In work, Zn–Al films were directly grown situ on aluminum foams that acted both reactant substrate. This method enabled removal fluoride ions simple immersion, ensuing withdrawal foam de-contaminated water. Different synthesis methods types investigated improve adsorption process. The contact time, initial concentration, adsorbent dosage, pH studied parameters affect capacity efficiency. highest absorption efficiency approximately 70% was obtained using two separate growth after four hours, effectively reduced concentration 3 mg/L 1.1 mg/L, is below threshold value set WHO drinking

Calcined Chitosan-Supported Layered Double Hydroxides: An Efficient and Recyclable Adsorbent for the Removal of Fluoride from an Aqueous Solution

In this work, calcined chitosan-supported layered double hydroxides (CSLDO) were synthesized through a co-precipitation method that restrained the particles' aggregation of LDHs and exhibited huge specific surface areas, which can enhance the fluoride adsorption capacity. CSLDOs were characterized by physical and chemical methods and used for fluoride adsorption in an aqueous solution. The resu...

Layered double hydroxides: Novel nanocatalysts for combustion of gaseous toluene from polluted air

The catalytic performance of Ni-Al, Mg-Al, and Co-Ni LDHs as novel nanocatalysts was evaluated in the oxidation of toluene. The samples were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR). The XRD and FTIR approved the structure and functional groups of the LDH, respectively. Also, the presence of cations with dif...

Synthesis ratios of Mg-Al and Zn-Al layered double hydroxides efficiency and selectivity in nitrate removal from solution

Four diverse chlorides layered double hydroxides with diverse ratios, i.e. Mg-Al (3:1), Mg-Al (4:1), Zn-Al (4:1), and Zn-Al (3:1) LDHs, were prepared to evaluate their efficiency and selectivity towards nitrate removal from aquatic solutions. A batch experiment was done at the initial nitrate concentration of 5-1000 mg/L, pH 5 to 12, and contact time of 5-180 min. Isotherms of nitrate adsorptio...
